Software company, Hyperion, offers employees $5000 to purchase a hybrid car

/

If the U.S. government's tax rewards are not great enough for your employees to consider purchasing a hybrid, perhaps an additional $5,000 would do the trick. This is the thought that went through Godfrey Sullivan's head. Sullivan, president and CEO of Hyperion is offering the cash reward as a way to help the environment and boost employee morale.

Sullivan came to the idea while riding a horse in the twentieth hour of a twenty-four hour riding marathon. He claims that he was 'really tired, riding along in the dark, getting really spiritual.' He says that he wanted to make his employees proud and wanted to enforce what the Hyperion brand stood for.

The news of the reward came as Hyperion joined a Silicon Valley Leadership Group environmental initiative.
