Dodge tapping VW for new small car

/
It's being reported that Dodge is looking to Volkswagen to supply the basis for a new small car to be sold in the U.S., South and Central America. Since the Polo was deemed to small for America's super-sized tastes, Volkswagen is considering other possible platforms, with the last generation Jetta's currently residing at the top of the list. No word, however, on where the small car would be produced or when production would begin.

These new reports of a VW/DaimlerChrysler collaboration echo news from earlier in the year that DCX will be supplying VW with minivans to sell in the U.S. beginning in 2008.
