Cadillac to contract with firm to develop super tuner lineup?

V-Series Caddies a little tepid for you? Edmunds.com's Inside Line reports that Cadillac is mulling over developing even higher performance versions of its CTS-V, STS-V (pictured) and XLR-V vehicles. We're not talking competitors to Mercedes' AMG or BMW's M units -- we're talking what Brabus is to Mercedes and Saleen is to Ford. IL reports that, like Mercedes and Ford, that Cadillac may be shopping around for an outside tuner to develop the line of vehicles. To fully compete with the Europeans, Cadillac won't be beefing its vehicles up into muscle cars -- Caddy's looking for a little more finesse and talking to the likes of Brabus, McLarenAlpina, Lorinser and Dinan.

Also under consideration are "Super V" models of the CTS, STS and XLR. These would be GM developed with more power than the current V lineup.
