China's number four auto maker, a partner of Ford and Suzuki, says it plans to develop small, efficient, low-emissions cars, in response to a chinese government initiative aimed at reducing oil consumption, pollution and traffic jams.
The company currently produces the "City Baby" Suzuki mini-car (pictured), and has been working on its "Project 863 hybrid" gas/electric prototype since 2002.
ChangAn also produces its own line of MPVs and light trucks.
