Ford busts out new colors for its European cars

We in the US may not be getting the new European-designed Focus, but some things are heading back the other way across the ocean - like color trends. Ford of Europe has introduced four new colors for the Focus, Fusion, and Fiesta, including the Electric Orange shown to the right (exclusive to the Focus ST). This particular color involves four separate coats, including the base color, a clear coat, a mineral-heavy metallic coat, and a final additional coat of clear. Other new colors offered include Apple, Tango, and Viola. Ford states that its European color palette consists of approximately 40% "trend colors" (lasting for one or two years) such as the above, 40% "core colors" such as metallic silvers and blues, and the remainder are solid colors intended mostly for fleet sales.
