Mazda has announced the production version of the MX-Crossport will be named Mazda CX-7. This begins Mazda's new global naming strategy, SUVs will carry the CX, rotary powered sports cars get the RX, piston-engined sports cars carry the MX and core vehicles will continue the name MAZDA and a number based on vehicle size. The CX-7 will follow the design cues of the concept vehicle and will be built in Hiroshima, Japan. More information will be available later in the year. The concept vehicle is shown.
