Silverado gets facelift and 2WD SS

Chevrolet has leaked some 2006 information to PickupTruck.com including the introduction of the two-wheel drive Silverado SS. Sales of the expensive AWD Silverado SS were never at the levels that Chevy would have hoped, due in part to prices which crept to the $40,000 mark. The 2WD version will start at $35,590, but continues to only offer the 345 horsepower 6.0-liter LQ9, while the Trailblazer SS gets the LS2 6.0-liter with almost 400 horse. Chevy is also tweaking the Silverado nose to match the heavy-duty version with the "powerdome" hood and will make the hybrid more available across the country. Autoblog just completed a week in the Silverado's sister, the GMC Sierra.
