Mazda MX-Crossport coming for 2007

Automotive News is reporting that Mazda is preparing a new sport wagon for late 2006 as model year 2007. The vehicle's styling was previewed as the MX-Crossport at the Detroit auto show. With the amount of positive feedback that was witnessed on Autoblog, this comes as no surprise. The Mazda sport wagon will be based on the Mazda6 platform. Mazda will sell the new sport wagon along side the Tribute SUV and MPV minivan citing that there is room in the lineup for all three.
