On Sunday March 6, The Boston Museum of Fine Arts officially opens "Speed, Style and Beauty: Cars from the Ralph Lauren Collection". The exhibit provides a sampling from Mr. Lauren's stash; including the 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupe, 1930 "Count Trossi" Mercedes-Benz SSK, Ferrari 250 GTO and 13 other automotive crown jewels. In the run-up to this seminal event, we offer a tour of dedicated car museums, whose hard work often goes unrecognized. Click through to check our first stop, The Tupelo Automotive Museum…

Tupelo, Mississippi is best known as the Elvis? birthplace. Their automotive museum has one Elvis-related car: the 1976 Lincoln Mark IV that The King bestowed upon Jerry Kennedy, Captain of the Denver Police Vice and Drug Control Bureau. The collection contains a wide variety of equally historic vehicles, from an 1886 Mercedes to a 1917 Hupmobile to a 1955 Packard Caribbean Convertible.
