Why should anyone aspire to own a Jaguar?

This opinion piece from TheCarConnection raises this question to Jaguar and the answer would be the cure for Jaguar's problems. Citing everything from questionable origins of the X and S type and poor advertising, he wonders if it will be possible to build Jaguar up on the shoestring budget that Ford has allotted.
