I, like many other V-8, rear-wheel drive fans love the fact that the Mustang is still alive and kicking. I think we can all say that the buzz surrounding the Mustang is a good thing also. It may wake other manufacturers up and start to offer two-door, RWD performance oriented cars again. Where I differ from many is that I am not a fan of J Mays and his insistence on heavy-handed retro design. When I see a new Mustang, it looks 10 years old already, kind of the reaction I have to the Thunderbird. But when Mark Phelan from the Detroit Free Press sees himself in one, he thinks he's Steve McQueen.
