Crash tests make Subaru Outback perfect, Chrysler 300 not too shabby

The first round of 2005 NHTSA crash tests has concluded and the undisputed winner is the Subaru Outback SUV. SUV? Last time I looked it was a wagon, but that's still a terrific win for Subaru as their Forester was already a safety star. The Outback was the only vehicle tested to receive five star crash rating in every area. The Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum topped passenger cars tested ranking five stars in three of the four tests. The rest of the testing wasn't as impressive but most cars received four and five star ratings including the Toyota Corolla and Matrix, Pontiac Vibe and Nissan Altima.
