For some reason Popular Mechanics is repeatedly saying "you heard it here first" in regards to the story they're running on how the Chrysler brand is making a 6-speed manual standard on many 2005 vehicles. Jeeps and Dodge truck models will come with the 6-speed transmission if they're normally equipped with manual transmissions. The Jeep Liberty for example will get a transmission similar to the one in the Chrysler Crossfire, Chrysler's first 6-speed. There will be different 6-speeds for Dodge Ram and Dodge Dakota trucks.
