Hyundai speeding up development

The Korean automaker that has been tearing up the industry with improved quality ratings is about to shake up the way things are done. Instead of going an industry standard five years between replacing their existing models, Hyundai will do it in four. Both Hyundai and Kia will also spend roughly $500 million more on R&D in the next year to begin development in new segments.
