Monster announces iPod car adapter

The venerable name in home and car audio linkage, Monster, announces their iCruze adapter for the iPod. Interestingly enough on the site's welcome page the iCruze is set-up in a luxury Mercedes Benz. I wonder if this is to counter BMW's relationship with Apple? Regardless the iCruze can either display information through the car's head unit if it is compatible, or it comes with it's own display screen that mimic's the iPod's own. The iCruze also lets you use the car's standard audio controls in-dash or through steering wheel mounted buttons if equipped and is connected through either a CD changer or satellite radio input in the existing car stereo. The best part is the price of $199.95, a competitive number coming from a quality name in audio accessories. Most of the other similar devices we've reported on certainly don't have a big name attached to them and cost more.

Update: Engadget is on the same wavelength as we are this morning and posted their own take with an image of the device.
