Alabama woman prays on it first, then stomps boyfriend's windshield in rage

A young Alabama woman was in jail after kicking out a Volvo's windshield as it sat parked in a parking lot.

Police in Cullman, Ala., responded to a call from a furniture store reporting a young woman standing on the hood of a silver Volvo in the store's lot stomping the windshield to smithereens. Once police arrived, they found Barbara Lowery just standing there and took her into custody.

We'd like to take a moment to note that stoving in a windshield with one's foot is quite difficult if not humanly impossible. But apparently she used a shovel to soften up the target first, says car dealer Scott Sams, who caught the incident on video.

"I was actually holding a baby in Subway and saw this woman swinging a shovel and then she went to stomping on it and screaming and hollering," he told the Cullman Times. "That's when I went out and started shooting the video. I didn't know what else she might do."

The owner of the vehicle, Nick Myrick, told the Cullman Times that he was at work at the furniture store when Lowery went to work on his beloved Volvo.

When asked about the incident, Lowery told ABC 33/40 that she decided to smash up the car because thought Myrick, whom she believed to be her boyfriend, had cheated on her. She also said she took her vengeance on the Volvo after a night of prayer.

"I prayed about it first, and I slept on it, and I decided it wasn't a good idea. Then I saw a shovel," she told ABC 33/40. "I already knew going into it that I would have to face some consequences, and you know it kind of sucks, but like I said, I prayed about it and stuff, and I did it anyway."

She was right about the consequences. Lowery was charged with disorderly conduct and spent a night in jail. She could face criminal mischief charges if Myrick decides to press charges.
