Watch Danish helo pilots land on a ship in rough seas, laugh in death's face

Listening to the radio comms, it's like this is a walk in the park.

This post is appearing on Autoblog Military, Autoblog's sub-site dedicated to the vehicles, aircraft and ships of the world's armed forces.

If you're afraid of helicopters, ships, or rough seas, this video might be the scariest thing you've ever seen. At the same time, it gives a good idea of just how talented military chopper pilots are.

Put together by the Danish Air Force, the video shows an MH-60R Sea Hawk attempting to land on the rear deck of a Thestis-class patrol vessel (probably HDMS Vædderen, judging by the registry number on the helo deck) as she sails through some extremely rough weather off the remote Faroe Islands. It's terrifying.

The Danish Sea Hawk makes a few attempts at landing as the rough North Atlantic seas toss
Vædderen (Dutch for "Aries") about. But what's most amazing is how perfectly calm both pilot and deck operator are as they communicate over the radio – it's almost like they're bored. Meanwhile, we'd be screaming.

Check out the video to see what we mean.
