At $33,490 (including $995 for destination), the Sprinter Worker is a full $4,000 cheaper than the current base Sprinter 2500 Cargo Van. It's also a good $3,000 cheaper than the diesel-equipped Ram Promaster 1500, and $4,000 less expensive than a Ford Transit 150 XL with a diesel. Of course, both of those models offer gasoline-powered versions that undercut the Sprinter Worker's base price.
What do you get for $33,490? Not a ton. The Worker trim is only available with the 144-inch wheelbase and low-roof configuration. It comes with the excellent 2.1-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine, but can't be optioned with the 3.0-liter diesel V6. You can't get four-wheel drive, either. But that doesn't mean it isn't a workhorse. The Sprinter Worker will tow 5,000 pounds, has 3,512 pounds of maximum payload, and can hold 319 cubic feet of stuff. For folks who need basic hauling transportation, this seems like a good option.
The Sprinter Worker can either be optioned in super-base spec, or with many comfort and convenience features. There's a $1,499 Convenience package that adds heated power mirrors, cruise control, automatic lights, a multifunction steering wheel, and trailer hitch pre-wiring. The Utility pack ($2,999) adds all the aforementioned stuff plus a wood cargo floor, rear step, LED interior lights, two additional keys, and glass in the rear cargo doors. Finally, the $4,499 Overtime package bundles all that good stuff and adds an upgraded audio system, highbeam assist, blind spot assist, a rear-view camera, first aid kit, and emergency flashlight. But at that point, you're already in non-Worker Sprinter pricing territory.
Like we said, this seems like a great option for people who need a basic work van that can haul a ton of stuff. See it for yourself in the gallery above.

With a total roof load capacity of 660 lbs., ladder racks and roof attachments can be added to the WORKER from any number of upfitters.
Inside, the WORKER's standard 319.1-cubic-feet of cargo volume provides ample room for racks, bins, shelves, cabinets and toolboxes. The standard steel floor can be left unfinished or can be customized with an optional wood floor or with any other floor covering of choice.
One place that doesn't need customization: the front passenger compartment. With power windows, A/C, tilting & telescoping steering wheel, 5 cup-holders, adjustable armrests, ample storage, and a standard 4-speaker audio system that boasts Bluetooth® telephone interface, wireless music streaming and an auxiliary port, the WORKER aims to make time on the road productive convenient and comfortable.
Standard BlueTEC diesel engine for maximum power and efficiency
Time is money, and time spent at the gas pump is time that could be spent on the road or at the job site. The Sprinter WORKER comes exclusively with a powerful and efficient 4-cylinder diesel engine paired with an efficient, class-exclusive 7G-TRONIC 7-speed transmission that helps stretch each gallon of diesel further. Based on over 300,000 miles of user-reported fuel economy on fuelly.com, this efficient engine and transmission combination is capable of well over 23 miles per gallon, even in high-roof, extended- wheelbase Sprinter 2500 applications.
Producing 161 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque (available at just 1,400 RPMs), the Sprinter WORKER's 2.1-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine provides seamless power thanks to its two- stage turbocharger. This engine knows how to work hard, with a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. and a maximum payload of 3,512 lbs.
In combination with exhaust gas recirculation, two-stage cooling, selective catalytic reduction (SER), Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) injection and a particulate filter, the Sprinter WORKER is not only efficient, but environmentally responsible.
Best-in-class service intervals
The Sprinter WORKER has a best-in-class service interval of up to 20,000 miles. With a service interval as long as this, the WORKER can spend more time on the road and less time in the shop. Thanks to its low rate of depretiation and high overall value, the Sprinter once again received ALG's Residual Value Award for Fullsize Commercial Vans in 2016.

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services: Flexible Products and Flexible Terms Unique to Commercial Van Customers
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services worked with Mercedes-Benz USA to develop a variety of exclusive financial products with flexible options — delivering you the benefits that are most valuable to your business.
Retail Loan: This is a simple-interest, fixed-payment program that locks in an interest rate. Customers can rely on a stable monthly payment for the term of the loan. Our commercial retail financing options give Mercedes-Benz Commercial Van customers the opportunity to customize a comfortable payment schedule that best fits their needs. The customer will own the vehicle at the end of the term and be able to take advantage of the depreciation benefits. We can even structure a solution to finance the van, upfit equipment and aftermarket products into one package.
TRAC Lease: The most common form of commercial leasing is a Terminal Rental Adjustment Clause (TRAC) lease. Our TRAC lease does not require any acquisition fee or charges for excess mileage or excess wear and tear. With a TRAC lease, customers are responsible for the residual value of the vehicle, so that value is determined with customer input. There are also multiple options at lease end; including acquiring the vehicle or receiving the excess proceeds upon our sale of the vehicle (ifapplicable). TRAC leases are limited to motor vehicles leased to businesses and used at least 50% of the time for business purposes.
Zero TRAC Lease: The Zero TRAC lease offers many of the same benefits as a TRAC lease but amortizes to $0 at lease termination. At lease end, customers may purchase the vehicle for its fair market value and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services will credit the customer's payments to the purchase price, providing ownership of the vehicle with little or no cash outlay. Customers also can choose to have us sell the vehicle, and we will return any net proceeds from the sale directly to them.
Fair Market Value (FMV) Lease: The Fair Market Value (FMV) lease is commonly referred to as a walkaway lease, since the lessee can simply turn in the vehicle and walk away, at lease maturity, after meeting all obligations of the contract (subject to certain return conditions and mileage restrictions). It typically requires a lower initial cash outlay and lower monthly payments than through a traditional loan and payments may be expensed against income. With this type of lease, the lessee avoids the risks and responsibilities typically associated with vehicle ownership, although the lessee can also purchase the truck at the end of the term for its current fair market value.
Complete Advantage Lease: Everyone has a budget, and when it comes to running your business, you can appreciate the value of even, predictable expenses. Every Complete Advantage Lease includes coverage for preventive maintenance and replacement of common wear items, plus an extended limited warranty—all giving you peace of mind and protection from unexpected vehicle expenses.
The Complete Advantage Lease includes a fixed, inclusive monthly payment; preventive maintenance, extended limited warranty coverage, replacement of common wear items; roadside assistance; service from factory-trained service technicians; and no turn-in fee.
With Complete Advantage Lease, you can structure your lease to best fit your individual business operations. You can choose a Fair Market Value (FMV) lease where you simply return the vehicle at the end of your term (subject to certain return conditions and mileage restrictions), or you can opt for a Terminal Rental Adjustment Clause (TRAC) lease that gives you more flexibility when it comes to lease end.
Flexible Payment Options for Commercial Van Customers:
— Balloon Payments: These types of loans allow customers flexibility with their cash flow and are effective if you plan to sell your van prior to the end of the term.
— Skip/Seasonal/Token Payments: Loans can be structured to account for the seasonality of your business, with no required payments during slow periods5.
- Deferred Payments: We allow qualified customers to defer payments, if needed. Life is full of uncertainties, and this value-added service can provide peace of mind when you need it most.
— Extended Terms: To help our customers acquire the commercial vans they want with a payment they can afford, we offer extended terms.
— Lines of Credit: We offer lines of credit, an advantage that can free up operating lines of credit for normal business expenses.
No Maximum Amount Financed: We routinely fund contracts for multiple vehicles with values exceeding $1 million.
