If you take the law into your own hands, you may end up with more than you bargained for. A Baton Rouge, La. man pleaded for help as he clung to the hood of a moving truck after an altercation with a vigilant citizen. Police Cpl. Tommy Stubbs told WBRZ 2 the man on the hood was selling shrimp on the side of the road when the truck driver stopped and picked up his sign.

The shrimp seller's sign was illegally placed, according to a city ordinance that prevents signs from places where the public has the right of way. But dealing with the matter gave this driver more trouble than it was worth. The shrimp salesman jumped on the truck to prevent the driver from leaving. The driver drove the truck and his new hood ornament to a nearby police station. No one was charged in the incident.

Disgruntled drivers heading into traffic with people on their hoods is nothing new. This man in Georgia was recently filmed holding on to a woman's hood after she hit his wife's car and tried to run.

It's illegal to hang anything from your mirror cause it blocks your view, but its ok to hang a human off your hood at speed. The only way you can get away with that is, your a cop, or a friend of the cops. Selective enforcement at its finest. Besides, who else would know about such an obscure law?

It would have to be a BIMBO to say whats going on. Anyone else would have just dialed 911 and not be so calm about it. How stupid can that Air Head Be.

Why did the driver have the right to take the sign? He knew where the police station was located - report it and let the police handle it. Something out of wack here.

That's no vigilant citizen, it's a VIGILANTE (ie: someone who takes matters into his own hands.) The shrimp seller should sue the man in the truck because he subjected him to bodily harm. The man was not a law enforcement person, and was not authorized to take the sign, and was CERTAINLY not authorized to give them shrimp seller a ride on the hood - why didn't the police arrest the driver?

The question is, how did the driver know about that law? Add in that he didn't get arrested for endangering the guy on the hood and everybody on the road = truck drive is a cop.

He would not have been subjected to bodily harm if he hadn't thrown HIMSELF onto the hood of the truck. Personal responsiblity. Learn it.

No one was charged????? Are they joking? If you drive without a seatbelt you get a ticket, but a person on your hood is OK I guess.
