Super Drunk Principal Gives Cuffs The Slip

Elementary school principal found 'super drunk"

This intoxicated driver may have given her cuffs the slip, but she can't avoid the consequences of her actions.

Police in Novi, Mich. arrested Deerfield Elementary School Principal Kim Warren after concerned citizens reported a car swerving dangerously on roadways before it pulled into the school's parking lot.

When officers arrived, they say they found Warren with an open bottle of vodka at her feet and a blood alcohol content of more than twice the legal limit. She was charged with High BAC, referred to the "super drunk" law in Novi, as well as Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle.

WXYZ 7 obtained this dash cam video of Warren sitting in the back of the police car. At one point she slipped off her handcuffs and attempted to hand them to the officer. A suspect in custody getting loose from restraints can be a safety hazard for police, but Warren is apologetic and not combative so the officer simply asked her to hold on to them and not throw them out the window.

Warren is currently on paid administrative leave from Novi Public Schools, but the district told WXYZ that Warren is facing termination if she does not resign.
