A cautionary tale for prospective carjackers:

As the bumbling thief in the video above from CBS News might attest, it'd probably be prudent to know how to drive a stick shift if you plan on stealing one.

Not only are stick-shift cars are few and far between these days, but automatic transmissions are increasingly coming in the form of continually variable transmissions (CVTs). Check out our video below on how CVT's work, and why one might be in your next new car.

Wow. Go to prison for trying to steal a POS pickup. How incredibly stupid. If you're going to throw your life away and commit grand theft, steal a car worth stealing!

Seems to me, the first rider to cross the finish line wins. He passed every drug test they gave him, and now, all these years later, they demand that Armstrong prove his urine was clean back in 1999?

Some years ago, when carjacking first became popular, two armed fellows in Washington, D.C., carjacked a man. Big mistake. They chose the wrong guy. FBI agent. One dead, one in hospital.

I was car jacked once the idiot forgot to put the clutch in before trying the ignition my auto kill kicked in and he couldn't start the car without resetting the system. I called the cops and had a good laugh over the fool while they finger printed the car.

The "new standard" is automatic. I call them manual, but you are absolutely right: they are an anti-theft device in most cases!

It's so much easier to just get a job and pay for a truck the old fashioned way.
