The mantra of the builder of this R/C DeLorean replica from Back to the Future is: "куда мы идем, нам не нужны дороги." According to Google Translate, that's Russian for, "Where we're going, we don't need roads." Appropriate, eh?

With a painted foamcore body and blue LEDs, this Mr. Fusion-equipped DMC-12 sits on a quadrotor platform and is powered by a distinctly non-nuclear lithium-polymer battery juicing four motors, a speed controller and stabilizer. While no plutonium is required, this homebuilt's cool is practically radioactive. Check it out after the jump.

Maaaaan!!! If Tyco had come out with this when I was a kid (...when Back to the Future was fresh out-of-the-box...) I think my head would've exploded!!! This is pretty sweet!

It's a DeLorean, all lit up, flying high in a field of white powder. Get it?

The way I see it, if you're gonna build an R/C car into a plane, why not do it with some style?

The shape and proportions are a little off, but it doesn't take away from the immense awesomeness of this awesome idea and execution.

Initially I wanted there to be a bit more detail but after seeing it fly the LEDs completely make up for it. Thruster LEDs though anyone?
