Bugatti Veyron targa confirmed for next year

We've known as much for a while, but according to a Georges Keller, a Bugatti spokesperson quoted by Automotive News, a drop-top Veyron is in the works and is due to launch sometime next year. Details are scarce, but according to an unnamed ex-Bugatti executive, the targa-topped hypercar will feature a removable hardtop, but its overtly wealthy owners will have to plan ahead, since there won't be any room in the Bug to store the roof on the go. According to the anonymous exec, the decision to go with a hard top instead of some kind of cloth piece was due to the design of the Veyron's safety cage. Certainly a good call considering the Veyron's potential.

Given all of the airflow and aerodynamic disasters they had with the fixed roof Veyron during development, I wouldn't be surprised to see this on speed limited to 175MPH or so.

If you gave me a Veyron that was limited to just 100 mph, fixed roof or open roof, I'd be happy !
In fact, I'm wondering when the Japanese are gonna make Veyron body kits for the Civic and the new accord to complement those fake Lamborghini doors.

A Shooting-Break (or -Brake, whichever it is) Yeah and if they are on it, might as well go for a four door coupe as everybody else is ;-)

Game over now! If I was a rich guy and could afford the Veyron, I might have chose to go with a Murcielago Roadster just for the open roof. But now there's no doubt how my billionaire ass would be rolling!

But......you can have different color Mucielago for each day of the week for the price of one Veyron targa. Besides, they're both just Volkswagen's to begin with......
OK, really nice Volkswagens!

wow this was really a surprise, but in the words of borat.....NOT!!!! lol....cmon everyone knew this was eventually coming it was just a matter of when, although dont expect it to hit 252 mph because 1st its gonna be a lil heavier due to the reinforcing theyll need to put in because of the removable top, and second because of all wind buffers this things gonna have to have so that hopefully the rich old billionaire fart who can afford it wont get his $300.00 toupee blown away at 200+ and so his 22 year old girl friend wont mess up her $400.00 hair-doo lol

Here's my question: does the targa variant's production count toward the 300 Veyron limit they committed to? Or are these extras?
