It's definitely worth the wait. The GT-R will go into production in 2007 and the sooner, the better. The striking
design touches hark back to previous GT-Rs. The round taillights are beautifully integrated with the rear end of the
car, and the designers gave the entire body a mean muscular look. We've heard that this GT-R Proto closely resembles
the production vehicle in execution. There are lots of photos after the jump.
This is a great car. But, the styling is sad. What's with the busy, blackout tears on the front end? Why does the rear look like the Cobalt Coupe SS? http://www.chevrolet.com/cobalt/ At least the side profile lines are good. The Japanese are so derivative in styling. Why on an awesome car, can't they be bold and beautiful? the last GT-R suffered ugly, and was so beautiful inside. Get some Italian or US designers into the mix, maybe, to draw a distinctive, pretty car design to match that awesome platform. The Hyundai Triburon even looked better when new.

And remember, it's domestic... it can't hanle for shit (yes I HAVE driven the new vette, not too much fun to fling around, just kind of a hassle). Another note... the current GTR is priced at 53K. A 70K GTR IS GOING TO BE FASTER THAN IT IS NOW. That's called logic, my dear. I love the new design, the profile is just as aggressive as the current car. And the fenders... the finest since the RX-8. Silver is a bit weak for the front end, a vivid red would bring out the carbon fiber accents under the headlights. My one and only complaint is the roof. I don't like how it just sort of "droops" off like it does. It needs flare. The car should be labeled as an Infinity - both for the flagship model and for the service. The GTR doesn't need the Nissan badge cause it's ledgendary, all GTR enthusasts know where it came from. And finally people... know what your talking about before you post. Otherwise you look like a douchbag. Or an idiot, your pick.

It looks like a 19 year old street racer has added carbon fibre panels to the car. Not a nice flowing design,it looks like a sedan that has had a few cosmetic features added to give the appearance of a sports car.

Sort of like War Paint, or Anti-glair on a football players face. That front end coming up on you in the rear view mirror will make any pretend sports car driver wet their pants!!

It needs some more massaging (refinement) by the stylists before it gets my vote. Congrats to Nissan for trying to revive this segment, which for all intents has been abandoned since the Japanese turbos left the market.

October 22 2005 at 10:14 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyi hope you aren't thinking this car is a c6 z06 beater, because that is going to be a near imposible feat. much like #45 has stated in stats, its one amazing car in numbers, but heres one more... in stock trim it dialed a 7:43 in the nurburgring!!! compare that with the ferrari enzo's 7:41~ and the carrera gt's ~7:44 that is just awe inspiring. the c6 z06 comes in with over 100 less horsepower and still competeing with the big big big boys. the word is, the titanium internaled motor in this z06 is untuned, and seems almost unbreakable. the aftermarket already achieved 40 rwhp with an exhaust upgrade.
