AutoWeek tests the new VW Jetta

The hype has begun. Yes we just posted about the company's marketing plans but AutoWeek is running a first test of the new VW Jetta from a press junket back in December. The car goes on sale in March. Mac Morrison likes this version and raves about the new steering, chassis and upgraded interior. He's not in love with the automatic transmission. But again a reviewer is saying how great the Jetta is because it's sub $20,000. Well the manual transmission starts at $18,500 without destination charges. That's going to be right at $20K after taxes. But at least the new base model now comes with power windows and traction control.
