Automakers patent everything

The Big 3 recently had a slew of innovative new technology patented for possible future use in their products. Don't expect things like self-parking cars arrive anytime soon but other ideas like a GPS unit to find your car in the parking lot might stop popping up sooner than imaginable. While many ideas might never make it, similar patents helped make vehicles like the new Ford F-150 so successful. My favorite new patent is the glow in the dark trunk release in case you're caught inside. Another thing for Tony Soprano to worry about.
