Reviewing the second- and third-row seats of the 2019 VW Atlas, including its space, access and sliding seat capability.
Transcript- This is the rear passenger area of the Volkswagen Atlas. Now like all of the three-row crossovers, the second row does slide. But this one slides more than most. You can see just how much further it is in its forward-most position versus its rear-most position. Either way, there's a ton of legroom here.
This seat also reclines. But the most important thing here is just how far it slides to grant access to the third row. As you can see, it tips forward, and then slides.
A Honda Pilot or a Toyota Highlander really only give you about half that space to get through. And it really makes a difference when, well, you're trying to get back there.
Now once back here, you have really, a ton of space. I'm 6 foot 3, and legitimately, I'm very comfortable here.
Yes, the seat isn't completely all the way back, but there's still plenty of space up there.
The other thing is I have lots of headroom. That's not always the case. You also have air vents here. The seat-- if I'm honest-- it would be nice if it reclined a little more. But beggars choosers. Really, the Atlas here has more space in all three rows than virtually everything in this segment. And it really is a reason to consider it.
