Ford's Apollo Edition Mustang raised $230,000 for charity at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI, to help young people become pilots.

The Apollo Edition Mustang is a customized one-off for charity that takes inspiration from the program that sent a man to the moon. It's Ford's eighth model to benefit the Experimental Aircraft Association's work to get kids flying.

Ford is back at the Experimental Aircraft Association AirVenture air show in Oshkosh, WI, on July 31 auctioning off its seventh Mustang for charity, and this is one seriously mean looking 2015 'Stang. All of the money from the sale goes to give free introductory flights to young people to get them interested in aviation.

Ford's been a supporter of EAA AirVenture, a huge, annual air show held in Oshkosh, WI, for several years now, with one of its most notable contributions being a modified Ford Mustang, designed to look like one of America's great fighting aircraft. For the last six years, Ford has created a special version of the Mustang with a military aviation theme, and then donated the car to the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) to be auctioned off at the annual AirVenture event, also known as The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration.
