Takata adds millions to recall expansion in US [UPDATE]

BMW, FCA, Ford, Honda, Mitsubishi All Affected

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is starting to announce the expanded Takata airbag inflator recalls. FCA has over 5 million vehicles affected worldwide, and BMW has over 420,000 in the US. Honda's expansion includes 350,000 more Civics and Accords.

Chrysler recalling 67k trucks with manual transmissions

Under rare circumstances, the spring in the clutch ignition interlock switch on stick-shift 2006-07 Dodge Ram, Dakota and Mitsubishi Raider pickups could fail, but one reported fatality was enough for Chrysler and NHTSA to issue a recall of nearly 67,000 vehicles.

NHTSA investigating 110,000 Ram 2500s and 3500s, one death alleged

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation focusing on 110,000 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups from model years 2004 to 2006. One death has already been reported, according to NHTSA, due to a potential fault with the clutch interlocks on manual-transmission versions of the heavy duty pickup.

Chrysler recalls 1.2 million Ram pickup trucks

Chrysler has announced that it will issue three separate recalls that will cover as many as 1.2 million Ram pickup trucks for "steering-system tie rods that may have been misaligned during assembly or steering-system service." The vast majority of these trucks were sold in the United States, though some trucks in Mexico, Canada or overseas will be called in, as well.
