Don't buy a car you're going to hate driving.

We're all familiar with buyers' remorse. That feeling you get when you make a decision without fully thinking it through, and then have to live with the consequences of that poor choice.

Nobody wants to experience buyers' remorse, and that's especially true when the item is something as expensive as a brand-new automobile. You'll be reminded every day of your poor decision when you drive the vehicle, and you'll be living with it, most likely, for several years... all while you're making payments.

To help you make a wise decision, the experts at Consumer Reports have put together a list of vehicles that owners most regret buying. Some of the results are expected, and a few of them are at least a little bit surprising. Click on the image above to get started.

The Nissan Versa is cheap, but that might be just about all it has going for it. CR says "it feels like a bare-bones penalty box" with a droning engine and clumsy handling. On the plus-side, it does offer quite a bit of interior room for the price.

Like the Nissan Versa sedan that's also on this list of unsatisfying vehicles, the Sentra doesn't seem to have a lot going for it. CR says the ride is "stiff" and the driving experience is "joyless." Plus, it's the slowest vehicle in its class.

The vehicle with the overall lowest customer satisfaction score for the year is the Mercedes GLA-Class crossover. CR says its seven-speed transmission is "unrefined" and its engine's power delivery is uneven. Poor visibility and too little headroom also hamper this small crossover.

The Infiniti QX60 could basically be described as a more luxurious Nissan Pathfinder. Sadly, CR says its handing "lacks agility" and is "mushy," and we have to agree, especially when it's loaded down with people and cargo. It's also a bit of a gas guzzler, despite not being super powerful or quick.

The Ford Transit Connect is a vehicle meant first and foremost for commercial purposes, but Ford overs a family oriented version with seating for seven. Unfortunately, it's not all that great at performing minivan duties. CR says it has "a lackluster four-cylinder, a low-rent interior, cumbersome folding seats, and a skimpy level of standard features."

    Fiat 500

For a certain customer, the Fiat 500 is a fun, funky little urban runabout. For everyone else, it's not very satisfying to own and drive. Its base engine is low on power, its ride is described as "choppy," the rear seats are practically nonexistent, and the driving position is strange, says Consumer Reports.

Small crossovers are really hot right now, but if you're in the market, CR suggests overlooking the Chevy Trax. A small turbocharged engine doesn't provide very good performance and isn't very fuel efficient. Plus, the cabin is narrow, and the ride isn't very good.

The Acura ILX serves as the entry point into the Acura range, but it's simply uncompetitive with the vehicles it's going up against.

Owners cited poor performance, a shaky ride, loud noises, and a purchase price that's too high. To quote one owner, "I will be trading the ILX in as soon as I can." Ouch.
