Part Roadster, part snowmobile. The Nissan 370zki takes the meaning of winter sports into a frozen direction. Replacing the front wheels with ski's, while at the same time using custom snow "tank trends" at the rear. The Nissan 370zki is the ultimate winter roadster. Did we mention it's a convertible?

hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.

[ENGINE REVS]

REESE COUNTS: We are here today in snowy eastern Idaho with the Nissan 370Zki-- that's a 370Z that Nissan turned into a snowmobile. They are bringing this thing to the Chicago Auto Show. It's lifted, its wrapped, it's got these awesome tracks and skis.

Look at the name down there! This thing's caked with snow. We've been driving the hell out of this thing for the past few hours. Nice little preview from Nissan.

Now, other than the wrap, other than the tracks, it's their stock Z under here. Suspension's lifted a little, but you still get the 3.7-liter V6, seven-speed automatic-- unfortunately. But guys, this thing has been a lot of fun!

Now, they took off the front wheels, and replaced these with these hundred-pound skis. As you can see, the suspension's pretty much stock. But you look down here, and it's lifted just a little.

Now you go back here, and you see these big rubber tracks, from American Track Truck. Now, see all the snow caked up inside of here? We've been driving in this for the past few hours, and been having a lot of fun.

Now, trust me, guys, you can still get this thing sideways.

REESE COUNTS: So I was a little cautious. Because the skis are in the front, there's no rotating mass for the wheels, so the front brakes are disconnected. All the braking's in the rear.

So you can't just slam on the brakes, because you'll get the rear end to whip around on you. So you've got to kind of let off, and brake in a straight line. They're like, let the tracks do the work. But most of the time, it just felt like a really solid sports car-- with, uh, tracks in the rear.

- Talk to me, how you feel?

REESE COUNTS: This thing's awesome. I've always wanted to drive a car on tracks, and rear-wheel drive in the snow is fun to begin with. I love the Z, so this is like a trifecta of awesome.

This thing's great. I haven't stopped smiling for hours. I mean, look at all the snow and ice that have kicked up because, you know, it's convertible. We've got the top down, because why not?
