We sort through the various drive modes in the 2021 Audi RS 6 Avant and 2021 Mercedes-AMG E 63 S Wagon.

Transcript

- Let's look at drive modes in the E 63 S wagon. One way to switch the modes is through this little switcher, toggle up and down.

You can switch between manual and automatic mode with a button press there. You can also adjust your dampers independently from the rest of the modes, so Sport, Sport Plus, and [? Race, ?] full comfort. And then this is how you turn off your traction control, [? ESC. ?] And then way over here, you also have your exhaust button to make the exhaust loud, if that's the only thing you want.

Now, Mercedes does get more creative with it, sort of Porsche-like with the dial on the steering wheel. You can push it into different modes, all the way into Race mode there, and then all the way back into individual.

And then if there are only a couple individual settings you want to set independent from one another, there's a second dial over here that you can customize and press for whatever setting you want. So it's customized for exhaust and damper setting right now, but you can adjust independently from any other setting.

So what does that look like on the infotainment display? Well, just like this. I have a little animation with whatever the mode is. It'll detail what exactly the car is doing with those modes.

Drive modes in the Audi RS 6 Avant are selected by your drive select buttons down here. So you press that, and you bring up three modes, Comfort, Auto, Dynamic. And then you also have a few customizable modes over here, RS1 and RS2, which you can basically set up as individual modes, similar to the BMW M1 and M2 modes.

And the RS2 gives you even further customization, because you can put stability control in Sport mode. You can activate those RS modes via a button press on the steering wheel. Press it once for RS1 and twice for RS2.
