Base 4dr All-Wheel Drive
2021 Porsche Cayenne

The 2021 Porsche Cayenne is a five-seat mid-size crossover SUV with good to exceptional performance and lots of luxury and high-tech features on its options sheet.

With standard all-wheel drive, it comes in two body styles, standard SUV and coupe-style SUV.

For 2021, there's a new Cayenne GTS with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8. Also, the two existing plug-in hybrid models get larger lithium-ion batteries with a usable capacity of 14.3 kwh, up from 11.3 kwh.

The Cayenne uses five engines in its six models. The base engine is a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 making 335 hp. There's also a twin-turbo V-6, and a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 (in two levels of tune).

The base E-Hybrid takes the turbo V-6 and adds an electric motor. The ultimate Turbo S E-Hybrid takes the twin-turbo V-8 and adds an electric motor, making an astounding 670 hp, which can blast this high-tech car to a breathtaking top speed of 183 mph.

The Cayenne is a natural athlete on pavement and can defy physics on the track, using its long list of performance hardware.

As for gas mileage, it's more down to earth. The single-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 is EPA-rated at 19 mpg city, 23 highway, 20 combined. The twin-turbo V-6 gets 18/22/20 mpg for the standard Cayenne and 18/22/19 for the Cayenne Coupe. The twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 gets 15/19/17 mpg.

The Cayenne hasn't been crash-tested by the IIHS or NHTSA. Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking; options include active lane control, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, a surround-view camera system, and night vision.
