Nissan has a product that sells in the Rogue, but it's merely mediocre or at the bottom of its class in every category. The spacious interior and decent fuel economy are the two best things about it.

The 2020 Nissan Rogue compact crossover makes a great first impression. Its attractive styling bucks the usual trend of frumpy and/or utilitarian design, and despite this model being around for five years since its last full redesign, it still looks pretty fresh. The interior similarly looks good, there's plenty of up-to-date tech, and those seeking lots of family-friendly space will find one of the roomiest cabins in the segment.

There are no major changes for the 2020 Nissan Rogue except for the departure of the Hybrid model. The Rogue Hybrid was introduced for the 2017 model year, but now it’s out after just three years. The 2019 model year saw the addition of several driver assistance and safety technologies to the lineup. All Rogues gained forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and high-beam assist. For 2020, a slight uptick in prices is all that’s new.

The 2020 Nissan Rogue is available in three trim levels: S, SV and SL. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are available, and there is but one engine and transmission option. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with a continuously variable transmission. With front-wheel drive, the Rogue is rated at 29 mpg combined. The all-wheel drive model drops down to 27 mpg combined.
