2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLS 63

The Mercedes-Benz GLS is the auto maker's large seven passenger SUV and is meant to provide all the luxury and capacity demanded by the American market. The GLS is offered with three different engine choices: a 362-hp 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 in the GLS 450, a 449-hp 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8 in the GLS 550, and finally, a 577-hp 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 in the AMG GLS 63. All but the AMG move the power to the ground via a 9-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive system, the AMG uses a 7-speed automatic. Standard safety features include anti-lock brakes w/Brake Assist, traction control, stability control w/roll control, eight airbags, Mbrace SOS system, PRESAFE, Collision Prevention Assist Plus, rear camera, drowsiness detection, crosswind stabilization and collision prevention assist. The GLS 550 and AMG GL S63 also includes full LED headlights with highbeam assist and curve illumination, lane keep assist and blind spot detection. For 2018, the diesel engine has been dropped from the line-up.
