Here's a tour through BMW's different setup and screen menus.

- We are in the 2020 BMW X5 M Competition today, and we're going to be rolling through some of the different drive modes and drive customization options that you have to set the car up to drive just how you want it to. So let's get into the first set of menus, which we access via the Setup button. So this lets you customize a bunch of different drive modes, so engine, chassis, steering, brake, and the M xDrive system too. This car actually has brake by wire, so you can change the brake pedal feel there between a softer, more comfortable pedal and a stiffer pedal.

Now, you can also adjust the shocks there. It's an adaptive suspension and engine, changing engine characteristics to a sportier or a more fuel-efficient manner. M xDrive-- so you can see that is in four-wheel drive sport right now. That actually is activated by pressing the traction control off button right here. That activates M Dynamic Mode. You may know it as MDM. You press that. Now that turns everything back on, the DSC on. You press it again to turn it on, and boom, M Dynamic Mode. So that basically lets you get a little out of hand. It does rein you back in after you've gone a little bit sideways, but it's definitely a more fun chassis option if you're on a-- you know, a decently twisty road or even a track.

So down here, we have some more buttons as well. One here-- exhaust-- this car has a dual mode exhaust. So of course, that's on right now because we like loud things. And we also have an M Mode button that actually messes with the gauges and the visual setup and some of the driver assistance. So right now, you can see I press that, and it went into Sport Mode. So that changes the gauges to this wild vertical tachometer with nothing on the side here for you to be distracted by.

You press that again, and you go back in the Street Mode, which is the standard gauge setup. I actually kind of like this better. I can read the tach better, and it can tell where it's getting closer to red line as opposed to when it's in the Sport Mode. And it just kind of gets really small up there. I'm not a huge fan of it.

If you keep it completely pressed, it'll go into Track Mode. So I'm holding it down. And then you have to activate track. And that turns your infotainment screen completely off, and it also throws some more information up on the screen here for you to see what's going on over there. So you can customize this via the infotainment switcher over here. You can get some different layouts-- temperature, boost gauge.

And yeah, that basically turns all of your driver assistance systems off and make sure no audio is on so you won't be distracted by any of that. And yeah, that is-- you can just press MO to bring it back into road and normal driving. So with that, that-- oh, yes, sorry. There is actually one more. It's not completely obvious at first glance, but boom, right here, this little guy on the cool gear lever-- you can actually press up or down on this guy here.

And you can change your shift speed, shift aggressiveness, shift schedule. So right now, it's in its most aggressive state. Three all the way up-- that means that it's going to hold the gears. It's going to be your sportiest setting for on track. So you press that. You go back down to 1. And boom, that is a much more subdued setting. It'll be more for efficiency. And then obviously, you have the second setting as well for something a little in between, so to say.
