JEREMY KORZENIEWSKI: Hello. This is Jeremy Korzeniewski Autoblog and we're looking at a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek. This one happens to be a sport model. It's a new trim level for a 2021.

It's not really so much sportier. It doesn't have more power, different suspension tuning, or anything else like that. But it's kind of a mid-tier model an upper-mid-tier model with some exterior accents and some changes on the interior kind of aimed at that person who really buys into the Subaru lifestyle, with light off-roading and kind of a active lifestyle, people who like to canoe, ride bikes, that kind of thing.

So you'll notice in the front, the 2021 models get a new fascia compared to the 2020 models. This being a sport, it's got kind of a matte gray accent piece. You'll see that same accent on the mirror caps.

This is one of two new colors. We'll show you the other one in a moment. This color, it's called Plasma Yellow Pearl. But it's really got a lot of green in it, too. It's a pretty neat color in person, definitely stands out.

You'll notice it's got the matte gray wheels as well, 18 inches in this case. Come around. It's got a matte gray shark fin antenna as well. Around back, you'll see the sport trim designation called out there. No matter what color you get, it is in that kind of bright greeny yellow.

And taking a look inside, you'll see that that color palette goes inside as well with stitching. Take a look at the steering wheel, and you'll see the yellow trim and that. It's kind of got this faux carbon fiber on the sides, the yellow Crosstrek embossed here in the seating.

And this upholstery itself is unique to the sport. It is not leather. It is a vegan kind of fake leather that is called StarTex. It's not a total vegan interior, because they're still leather on the steering wheel. But it's more vegan, for people who are interested and that kind of thing.

And it's kind of a unique feeling interior. It is soft. Subaru promises it's very durable. And you'll see some matte gray interior pieces as well.

So that's the sport model. Promised I'd show you the other new color. That is this blue car here. And this color is known as Horizon Blue Pearl. This is a Limited.

It's the top trim level. You'll see different wheels. If you look closely, those top pieces kind of look like Rs. So the wheel's kind of saying R, R, R, R, R. Once you see that, you cannot unsee it.

The interior is different on the Limited models. It does actually have leather. Same carbon fiber here, same matte trim. But you notice the stitching is in orange.

And take a look at this perforations, the interior of the perforations is also in an orange color. It's a pretty cool look. I like that.

These, being the Sport and Limited models, come with the new 2.5 liter engine. That is a big deal. It's 30 horsepower more than the standard two liter that comes in the base model.

The 2.5 liter has 182 horsepower and 176 pound feet. That 30 horsepower difference compared to the 152 horsepower two liter really makes a big difference. Highly recommend this engine.

The base models do come with the option of a six-speed manual with the two liter. I definitely would consider that six-speed manual with the smaller engine to get as much power out of it as you can. The 2.5 liters are mated with a CVT automatic transmission. That's optional on the two liter. And if you're looking for an automatic, which most buyers are, definitely step up to the 2.5 liter that comes in the Sport and Limited models.

So that's the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek at a glance. And I hope you've enjoyed watching.
