New Grand Theft Auto Online mode has sweet Tron-inspired lightcycles

Anyone who has watched the Tron films knows how cool it would be to take one of those light cycles for a spin. Now, thanks to Rockstar Games, you can do just that in Grand Theft Auto V. The latest addition to the online portion adds a new game type called "Deadline," along with a specific motorcycle for it called the Nagasaki Shotaro. Obviously, like everything else in GTA it's not officially licensed, but the Shotaro is an unabashed Tron tribute, as is the game type.

Deadline puts players into a large driving arena to ride the cycles, each of which leaves distinctive light trail behind it. Like in the movies, the goal of the game is to get your opponents to crash into either your trail or their own. You'll also have access to power-ups that will allow you to go faster, maneuver more easily, or hop over other trails. The last person riding wins. Playing a match of Deadline also unlocks the Shotaro for purchase and use in other modes. You can check out the video above to see the bikes in action, and download the expansion for free on your system of preference. So get out there and fight for the users. End of line.
