Nissan recalls 2016 Maxima and Murano for brake issue

View 61 Photos
The Basics: Nissan will recall 12,616 units of the 2016 Murano with manufacturing dates between December 17, 2015, and February 11, 2016, and the 2016 Maxima from November 25, 2015, to February 12, 2016.

The Problem: The ABS actuator may have a damaged O-ring, which could result in a lack of brake fluid pressure. This problem could increase braking distances. The issue can also affect ABS and vehicle dynamic control activation.

Injuries/Deaths: None reported. There also haven't been any field reports of this problem happening. A Nissan worker discovered the issue during a routine inspection on vehicles at the Smyrna, TN, plant.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the ABS actuator, as necessary.

If You Own One: Nissan will begin the recall on June 4, 2016.
