Best military photos of the week: November 14

View 8 Photos
After a week off, we're back with our roundup of the week's best military photos. It's a smaller gallery this week, with only eight photos, but there are still some exciting shots, starting with the image above.

Shot with a fisheye lens, the motion blur of the EA-18 Growler – the electronic warfare variant of the F/A-18 Hornet – gives some sense of the speed these planes reach as they're catapulted down the deck of the USS George Washington.

Taken during Exercise Atlantic Resolve, this photos comes from the US Army Europe, and shows off the firepower of an M2A3 Bradley and its 25-millimeter gun. This APC belongs to Company A, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.

Another artsy shot from the deck of the USS George Washington, this HDR photo of the C-2A Greyhound cargo plane doesn't use as much motion blur as the shot of the EA-18 shown above. Still, it's a really pretty shot of an aircraft that doesn't get much attention.

Finally, we have a shot of Capt. Nick Chachor and his F-22 Raptor as it prepares to take off from Kadena Air Base in Japan. Chahcor and his Raptor are taking part in Exercise Keen Sword 2015.
