Police in Muskegon Mich. are looking for the driver of a minivan who backed over a mother and her baby. A security camera outside of a convenience store recorded the scene as the minivan backed into the woman and then dragged her one-year-old baby boy in his stroller a few feet. The van stopped briefly at the exit of the parking lot while the mother rescued her son before it sped away.

According to The Muskegon Chronicle the mother suffered a scrapped knee and, fortunately, the baby escaped with no injuries. The accident could have ended much worse.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety reported that deaths from pedestrian-motor vehicle crashes have declined since 1975, but still account for 14 percent of crash deaths. The National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration reported that one in five pedestrians killed by cars were killed in hit-and-run crashes since 1997.
