Flying SUV Lands Upside-Down On Roof

The accident happened in a flat area of Houston after the driver missed a turn and hit a berm

Kathie Black woke up at 2 a.m. Sunday morning to the loudest sound she ever heard: An SUV landing on her neighbor's roof.

In flat-as-a-pancake Houston, an allegedly drunk SUV driver missed a turn, hit a tiny dirt hill and his SUV went flying into the air, reports TV station KHOU. It flipped and landed on a roof.

"I was woken up at 2 a.m. with a loud screech and a boom, boom, boom, the loudest noise I ever heard," Black told the TV station.

No one was seriously hurt, not even the SUV driver who appeared to be texting on his phone as he was loaded into the ambulance. When the sun rose, crowds gathered outside on the street taking photos and video of a crane lifting the car out of the roof. The SUV was destroyed.
