In the French Alps, the perfect backflip is usually attempted by skiers or snowboarders.
In the video above (which, sadly, doesn't have sound), you'll see rally driver Guerlain Chicherit attempt one with heavier equipment, in this case, a MINI. He's the first to ever complete an unassisted perfect landing in an automobile, according to MINI's German makers.
There were no ramps with moving elements or any other specialized parts used to complete the maneuver, which took 18 months to rehearse and took place in Tignes, France. Chicherit used a static ramp that is basically the same as a quarterpipe on a freestyle course.
