HondaJet Delayed Again, Expected Mid-2013

TRANSLOGIC fans might remember seeing a jet fly across the screen in our super awesome opening reel. That generic CG aircraft was inspired by the HondaJet. We hoped it would eventually make it into one of our episodes, but now it looks like we'll have to wait just a bit longer. Michimasa Fujino, president of Honda Aircraft Co, stated that problems with the new engine have caused them to set back the first delivery until mid-2013. The problem arises when the engine sucks up ice, causing possible complications such as a slight loss in thrust--certainly not good when flying.

"I regret that we have to convey this message today," said Fujino. Customers of the nearly 100 orders may find this setback disappointing, but we think it's better to be safe than sorry on any new airplane tech.

The HondaJet is going to be sold for $4.5 million and will seat up to 2 crew and 6 passengers. It's expected to be used by many corporate personnel looking for cheap, but efficient transportation.

We're really excited to see how the new HondaJet fares, and we're sure they can pull it off. How many companies do you know that make both lawnmowers and airplanes?
