The 1:4 scale model clearly wears an extra set of doors and the wheelbase, if scaled up to full-size, is also longer than current Smart ForTwos.
Smart has dealt with some sales issues of late and a new model could be what the automaker needs to spark renewed interest in the States. The ForTwo is due for a makeover and the addition of a four-seater could be compelling for city folks who want to transport friends. We know that Smart USA is working with Nissan on larger a B-segment vehicle. If the Roadster winds up in production, Smart will have three-pronged approach to renewing its appeal among U.S. consumers.
