Pre-production Volt caught with its plug-in

An AutoblogGreen reader was out an about in the neighborhood this weekend and spotted an unusual car in a neighbor's driveway. Presumably the neighbor is a General Motors employee accumulating some miles on a pre-production 2011 Chevrolet Volt. Note that the Volt is grabbing some electrons via its travel charge extension cord that comes packed in the trunk. We'll probably be seeing a lot more of this sort of thing as GM ramps up builds of production validation vehicles at the Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. Those vehicles will be going into GM's captured test fleet to rack up real world miles before sales start in earnest this December. A tip of the hat to Marcin!
