Spied: Pre-production Nissan Leaf caught in action wearing nothing but a bit of tape

These pictures, caught by a tipster in Arizona, clearly show that Nissan does have at least one Leaf that's not adorned with that oh-so-familiar hue of Aqua Globe blue. Dressed in black attire, the Leaf's appearance is marginally closer to normalcy and dare we say, a bit less polarizing. As far as we can ascertain, these two images provide the first-ever glance at a pre-production Leaf testing on public roads. We'll certainly see more coming in soon as the release date draws near, but for now, black is all you get. Free of the usual swirly designs, you can clearly see every distinct feature of the Leaf, including those bulging headlights since this Leaf is about as naked as spy cars get.
