Spy Shots: 2012 Chevrolet Aveo spotted wearing spots

The last time we saw photos of the next-generation Chevrolet Aveo out and about, it was still wearing a lot of heavy vinyl camouflage. Now, another prototype has now been captured wearing just a black and white wrap so that the body is pretty much exposed.
Not much has changed from the styling buck we first saw last summer and the Aveo RS concept that we saw in Detroit. The five-door hatch hides the rear door handles in the C-pillar and the headlights remain exposed rather than hidden behind plastic.

Power could come from a normally aspirated 1.4-liter engine of the same type being used for the Volt range extender. For the Aveo, it could be re-tuned to deliver a bit more than the 100 horsepower it churns out for the Volt, making it competitive with the 1.5 and 1.6-liter units in the Honda Fit and Ford Fiesta. The RS might get the 138 horsepower 1.4-liter turbo that is also going into the Cruze.
