Swiss electric motorcycle manufacturer Quantya is planning to show off a new electric sportbike at the upcoming EICMA show in Milan on November 10th. For what it's worth, Zero Motorcycles plans on releasing its upcoming Zero SS electric sportbike around the same time period. According to MC24.no's Ivar Kvadsheim, who's reportedly seen images of the bike, Quantya's new machine features Italian sportbike styling not unlike the Ducati 1198 or Cagiva Mito, but more angular.

Preliminary specs put the new bike's range at about 87 miles per hour under normal riding conditions, with a top speed of over 100 miles per hour – considerably faster than the 45 mph top speed of current electric motorcycles like Quantya's own Strada or the Zero X or the 60 mph managed by the Zero S. Powering the new sportbike will be a lithium ion battery pack sending 74 volts to a 55-horsepower electric motor. Performance like that won't come cheap. Expect the electric machine to cost around €20,000 ($27,000). Ouch.
