Earth Day: Some interesting facts to consider regarding the earth

/
earth

–noun

(often initial capital letter) the planet third in order from the sun, having an equatorial diameter of 7926 mi. (12,755 km) and a polar diameter of 7900 mi. (12,714 km), a mean distance from the sun of 92.9 million mi. (149.6 million km), and a period of revolution of 365.26 days, and having one satellite.

Yeah, it's our planet, and remember, at this time, it's the only one we've got. So, it might make some sense to take care of it, right? That, of course, is one reason why we write all this stuff about green automotive tech. But, I was thinking, how much does the average person know about the earth? In fact, how much does anybody really know? So, I started doing some reading, and I encourage you to do the same. Today is, as you are already aware, Earth Day, so why not brush up on your knowledge and understanding of our planet. As a bonus, if any of this stuff ever comes up on TV, perhaps you'll be smarter than a fifth-grader after all.
